For a club that has won a record 20 Premier League titles in its rich history, Manchester United have struggled to emulate the success of their predecessors in recent years. Ever since legendary Sir Alex Ferguson parted ways from the Old Trafford, the Red Devils have consistently struggled at the helm of ever-changing managers.
Thus, earlier this season, when Jose Mourinho got sacked as United's manager, the news didn't really surprise anyone owing to the disappointing run the Manchester club had to endure under the tutelage of the Portuguese. But, things have looked better for the United fans since club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as interim coach.
A team that was earlier struggling to score goals, let alone produce convincing wins, United are not only witnessing a goals galore, but they are currently unbeaten in their last five Premier League games. But, what really made their turnaround noticeable was arguably the resilient 1-0 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur in their last game.
While Marcus Rashford scored the lone goal in the much-anticipated clash, it was David de Gea who attracted major plaudits for his insane shot-stopping abilities against the Spurs. The Spaniard made some extraordinary saves in the final 45 minutes of the game to leave fans and players spellbound with his impeccable goal guarding prowess.January 13, 2019
Amid the all the plaudits, De Gea's spectacular show also evoked some praise from Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. "How good is he ? @D_DeGea unbelievable goal keeping ! Go @ManUtd," Yuvi had tweeted.
Bloody hell, by reading Twitter it would suggest that @ManUtd are winning the Premier League & just won the Champions League.
They're not even in the top 4 & you are the SECOND best team in Manchester!
Will people just SHUT IT!
However, apart from all the celebratory tweets for Man Utd, there came one from Kevin Pietersen who questioned the hullaballoo surrounding their triumph against Spurs while questioning their current position in the league table. “Bloody hell, by reading Twitter it would suggest that @ManUtd are winning the Premier League & just won the Champions League. They're not even in the top 4 & you are the SECOND best team in Manchester! Will people just SHUT IT!” Pietersen wrote on Twitter.

Reacting to KP's tweet, Yuvraj, a self-proclaimed United fan, tweeted: "You should be used to the media by now Kp some kind of truth always hurts @ManUtd go United!".
Who's the best team in Manchester, Pie-Chucker? ð— Kevin Pietersenð¦ (@KP24) January 14, 2019
But, the former England cricketer wasn't going to back down just yet as he responded: "Who's the best team in Manchester, Pie-Chucker?".
Haha well depends r we looking at current form or counting no of championships? ð¤ªð— yuvraj singh (@YUVSTRONG12) January 14, 2019
In response to Pietersen's question, Yuvi delivered the killer blow with, "Haha well depends r we looking at current form or counting no of championships?"
Living in the NOW! ð— Kevin Pietersenð¦ (@KP24) January 14, 2019
Responding to Yuvi, KP could only come up with: "living in the NOW!".
While United are currently lying at the sixth spot with 41 points against City's 53 (at the second spot), the fact that Solskjaer has turned the tide at Old Trafford while becoming the first-ever manager at the club to win his first six games, surely adds to the promise of better things to come for the Red Devils.
