Sanya Malhotra Makes Heads Turn At LFW 2019 By Wearing Clothes Made Of Plastic Bottles

On the fourth day of  Lakmé Fashion Week, Sanya Malhotra, the 'Badhaai Ho' star walked the Summer/Resort 2019 ramp for Alcis X Nari powered by R|Elana,c, a collection which is a result of a collaboration between Alcis Sports and designer Narendra Kumar.

What makes this collection special is the fact that the fabric used in this collection is manufactured by recycling using PET bottles.

Yes, we're talking about millions of used bottles of juices and fizzy drinks that go to waste every single day.

Take a look at the runway which was symbolic of all the waste that accumulates to damage the earth over time.

However, there is a way around not polluting the environment that not only reduces trash but also provides a great alternative to fast fashion.

Fast fashion entails all those multinational clothing brands that spring in the new seasonal trends weekly in the stores near you at mysteriously dirt cheap prices. There is an obvious hidden cost that you pay when you buy these clothes.

What you don't realise is that you're harming the environment around you as these mass-produced clothes, which are not meant to last long in your closet, only create junk that makes the environment a toxic place to live in.

This collection, however, brings sustainability to gym wear. Entirely made out of recycled polyester sourced from PET bottles incorporated with the latest technologies like dry-tech, anti-odour and anti-static, the collection features T-shirts, joggers, bombers, blazers, layered jackets and leggings in prints inspired by Indian textiles and Indian art.

Take a look.

This is precisely why you should switch to eco-friendly brands that help the environment become a better place for you.
