Instead Of 'Boycotting' Surf Excel, Someone Ended Up Giving A Hate Review To MS Excel

Some people apparently just want to blindly hate and not even see who or what they're directing the hate towards. Most of the time it's just sad when that happens, but in some cases, it's hilarious and I'm so glad this is one of them.

If you've been on the social media these past few days, it's safe to assume you've seen the whole Surf Excel controversy. The brand made a cute little ad as a way to promote communal harmony, but some people had a problem with it. Basically the ad shows a little girl making every kid in the lane to throw all their colours on her while she rides a bike and as soon their colours run out, she asks a little boy dressed in all white to come out. She then drops him at a mosque for namaaz and says that he's going to play holi with everyone after he's done.

A lot of people found some problem with the ad, mainly thinking that 'only Hindus are targeted'. Soon, the hashtag #BoycottSurfExcel was everywhere.

One of the worst Ad ever by Surf Excel. It should be rolled back and @HUL_News should apologize for hurting sentiment of our religion.#BoycottSurfExcel

There are hundereds of tweets like this but seems like someone decided to take some more action against the 'evil company', it just went hilariously wrong.

This particular person went on to his Google Playstore and left a horrible review on the app. If you're wondering why would a detergent have its own app, well this person actually ended up the MS Excel app. Yep, that happened. This is what blind hate does.

Remember the entire Snapdeal-Snapchat fiasco? This is also as funny as that.

When you are confused between #SurfExcel and Microsoft Excel, shit happens. pic.twitter.com/vxJaVfLzcw

It was just inevitable.

I was actually thinking of this earlier today. And now it's happened! ð

Wait, there's another review.

I think they got lost online a bit. pic.twitter.com/zo5AqSxb5J

Everyone should do it.

In solidarity with @HUL_News, I'm going to install @Microsoft Excel on my mobile today.

Good idea.

Thought this to be spoof until I read the comments on playstore.

Now @FarOutAkhtar should put disclaimer that Excel Entertainment has nothing to do with Surf Excel.

The best.
