Burj Khalifa Honors NZ PM Jacinda Ardern For Standing With Muslims Post The Christchurch Attack

On March 15, the prayers of the worshippers at a Christchurch mosque turned into screams, after a gunman mercilessly opened fire and killed nearly 50 people.Β

This was, like Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, "one of New Zealand's darkest days". Since then, the whole nation has come together as one, to mourn the loss of the people killed in the attack and wipe the tears of their family members.Β Β

Post the attack, PM Jacinda Ardern has been standing in solidarity with the Muslim community and Ardern even said "We are one" in one of the interviews post the attack. Ardern is being hailed as a hero across the world for standing together with the victims and their families and for tightening gun laws in the country. Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building in Dubai, too honoured her by lighting up with a photo of Ardern in a hijab hugging a woman after the Christchurch shootings.Β

UAE Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to Twitter to thank PM Jacinda Ardern and wrote, "New Zealand today fell silent in honour of the mosque attacks' martyrs. Thank you PM @jacindaardern andΒ  New Zealand for your sincere empathy and support that has won the respect of 1.5 billion Muslims after the terrorist attack that shook the Muslim community around the world."
