Anand Mahindra Defends India's Mission Shakti And Calls Out NASA For Being Hypocritical

India's Mission Shakti has become a huge topic of discussion over the past few days, and rightfully so. There has been a lot of banter surrounding it ever since PM Narendra Modi made the announcement.

First, a former ISRO engineer called the mission a complete waste. It was followed by NASA administrator Bridenstine's comments, who didn't really seem happy about the mission.

Now the chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, has joined the discussion by calling out NASA's comments on the mission. Now, Anand Mahindra, in case you don't know, is very active on the micro-blogging site. He's also known to be very opinionated about all the current happenings.

A case of the pot calling the kettle black. From a nation that created most of the debris in space over decades, this is an audacious statement.... https://t.co/QFqCnES2gt

In his tweet quoting NDTV, Anand defended Mission Shakti and called NASA's statement 'audacious'. “A case of the pot calling the kettle black. From a nation that created most of the debris in space over decades, this is an audacious statement,' he said.

Anand's tweet is essentially a response to NASA chief Bridenstine's comments on the space debris. Earlier this month, Bridenstine said that India's move to destroy a defunct satellite a 'terrible thing' as it left 400 pieces in space. He also claimed that the debris has put the lives of astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) under massive risk.
