Yes, indeed, this happened. First things first, I have immense respect for the courage and the kind of boldness miss Sawant showcases when it comes to voicing some very strong opinions of hers. She gives two hoots about what one might think of her politically correct side because there isn't any and she speaks whatever is on her mind. So the much coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation commended her with 'best item dancer' award in Bollywood but everyone is finding it hard to believe. We are not questioning her capacity to win an award but the title of the award itself.

Rakhi has performed on over 100 dance songs in her career and feels happy for winning this recognition. However, people on the internet cannot believe that this happened.

One of the reporters even questioned her if she bought the award and she replied that “Not at all. Hamari itni aukaat nai hai award ko purchase karein. The jury and the federation realised that Rakhi Sawant hasn't received an award since 12 years so I am very thankful to them. It gives us motivation when an artist is honored with an award. It makes us work harder.” Now sure Rakhi deserves an award but don't you think an 'item dancer' award is the wrong representation of her worth?
