This 8-Yr-Old Chennai Boy Taught Himself 106 Languages & It's Giving Us Major Inferiority Complex

There are kids, and then there are pure geniuses like 8-year-old Niall Thogulava from Chennai.

Remember the time when cartoon shows, playing with friends 5 hours a day and coming home at the end of a school day used to be our biggest points of interest? Well, Niall is an example of how the generations, since ours, have evolved.

This child prodigy from Southern India has portrayed exceptional talents when it comes to reading, writing and speaking hundreds of languages from around the world.

Niall is an inspiring polyglot who can read and write as many as 106 languages! *WOAH*

How did he do it in such a short time of being around? Well, blame it on the internet (just like this year's CBSE 12th topper). Niall took the help of the internet, especially YouTube, to learn all the languages he has mastered today.

As per an ANI report, Niall also knows the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), which allows one to transcribe the sound of any spoken language in order to ascertain its pronunciation. Niall told ANI, "I do not know how my interest in languages began. I can read and write over 106 languages and can fluently speak 10 languages. I am currently learning five new languages."

Niall's father, Shankar Narayanan, is a proud man when he says, "Last year, he started developing an interest for new languages and from there he took a great leap. Making use of the internet, he started learning one language after another."

Niall is proof that if you set your heart on something, and work hard to see it through, anything is possible and age is no bar for it.
