A few months ago we heard that actor Rajkummar Rao was roped in to play the lead in Dostana 2, the sequel to the 2008 hit film produced by Karan Johar.

Rajkummar was reportedly supposed to play a gay character in the love story that revolves around two gay men pretending to be straight. However, Rajkummar is not part of the film which is now said to star Kartik Aaryan, Lakshya, and Janhvi Kapoor.

In a recent interview with TOI, Rajkummar said, “ I had date issues as I have already signed a few upcoming projects.” He also said that he is eager to work in a KJo film very soon.

Meanwhile, Kartik, Lakshya and Janhvi are ready to get on with the first schedule of the film which is spread across 22days in different parts of North India including Chandigarh and Patiala. Later, the team is also said to be shot overseas.

Janhvi said, “I'm excited about Dostana 2 because it's a very funny script. If you talk about path-breaking films, I feel this story will be like that.”

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Made in China with Mouni Roy and Roohi Afza opposite Janhvi Kapoor.
