Kartik Aaryan's upcoming movie Pati Patni Aur Woh is making headlines right now for all the wrong reasons, as one of his dialogues from the trailer, has been slammed by fans online as crass and in bad taste, as it appears to be 'promoting marital rape'.

So the dialogue is, “Biwi se *** maang lein toh hum bikhaari, biwi ko *** na de toh hum atyachaari, Aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke usse *** haasil kar lena toh balaatkari bhi hum hai."
The movie seems to be trying to take a humorous approach to adultery and extra-marital affairs, however, people seem to be of the opinion that the director has gone too far and hit really below the belt.
In a scene from the trailer, it appears that Kartik's character Chintu Tyagi is making a point that it's unfair for men to be termed as "rapists" when they manage to convince women to give in to their demands and have *** with them.

People on Twitter are ripping the trailer apart for the kind of message the movie seems to be trying to promote. In a country where women are still fighting for their rights and facing sexual harassment on a regular basis, it is nothing but sad that the movie is making light of such matters.
One of the users wrote, “Biwi se *** maang lein toh hum bikhaari, Biwi ko *** na de toh hum atyachaari, Aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke usse *** haasil kar lena toh balaatkari bhi hum hai - I don't expect anything from a Kartik Aaryan movie but this is dismal.”

Kartik will fall at a greater speed than the way he is rising. #misogynistic #Shameless

...so the whole team of this movie think rape is a joke..."balatkaar" is not a joke and no wife would tag her husband as "balatkaari" just for fun...stop justifying stupidity just bcoz ur need a rhyming scheme in ur dialogues..!!!
This misogyny needs to end! A woman's power to consent is not something to joke about and what makes it worse is that 20-something year olds are being part of such projects. #PatiPatniAurWoh #Hindifilmindustry #MaritalRape

Slow claps brother @TheAaryanKartik
You don't "achieve" the *** in a rape. It's forced "crime" on a life of human being. Not only physically but also emotionally and it destroys someone's soul and will of life.

And this is, obviously, not the first time that Kartik has been questioned for his monologues. In his previous movie, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, he questioned the character of women saying “ladkiyaan hote hi kameeni hai" and "problem yeh hai ki woh ladki hai."
Well, the damage has been done now and it does not bode well for the movie and everyone who have worked hard for it. Here's hoping either the cast or the makers take note of this backlash and address it immediately.
