We've been hearing a lot about the 2020 iPhones lately. From improved cameras to 5G support, there's a lot that we already know about them. And now, a noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that Apple's 5G-enabled iPhones next year will not be significantly expensive.

While 5G-related components will increase the production cost of the iPhones next year, he believes that Apple will not increase the price significantly. Instead, he thinks Apple will offset the additional cost by reducing its supply chain expenses.

According to the news portal iMore, Apple will drop its upfront non-recurring engineering payment to suppliers of the redesigned metal chassis of 5G iPhone. Kuo noted that Apple intends to do all that in house, along with some other areas of external research and development.

Kuo says the 5G components can raise the production cost of the new iPhones by anywhere from $30 to $100, which isn't much considering the fact that these iPhones will have 5G support among other upgrades.

Reportedly, Apple is also planning to include a custom battery protection module with iPhone 12, which is said to be almost 50-percent smaller and thinner than the current ones. Hence, the new iPhones may also have a larger battery. Besides that, there are some reports which also states that the new iPhones will have a slightly bigger display. Although there's no way to confirm that just yet.
