Joining the slowly-growing club of Bollywood celebrities chiming in on the discussion around the Jamia Protests, Hrithik Roshan recently took to Twitter to share his stance on the matter.
While a large section of the student community in India is taking a stand against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed by the government, celebrities are being called out for their lukewarm attitude towards the matter.
Referring to the clash between the police and the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University and Aligarh University, Hrithik wrote, "As a parent and a citizen of India, I am deeply saddened by the unrest across various educational institutions of our country. I hope and pray for peace to return as soon as possible. Great teachers learn from their students. I salute the world's youngest democracy."

— Hrithik Roshan (@iHrithik) December 18, 2019His tweet left many confused and people started asking the Super 30 actor as to 'what exactly does he mean?'. People also pointed out that Tunisia is the world's youngest democracy and not India.
Since his faux pas, people have been trolling him for calling India the world's 'youngest democracy'.
— Sagar (@sagarcasm) December 18, 2019India is not the world's youngest democracy. And people are increasingly worried about how long we will remain one.
