Sitting in your comfort zone on your couch and watching a scintillating dance reality show sounds like a good idea, right? I am sure many of you would love to do just that, but what if you have to go watch a reality show in theatres, which, instead of making your heart race, turns out to be completely bland and also burns a hole in your pocket? Yeah, doesn't sound that appealing.

Well, Remo DâSouzaâs much-awaited Street Dancer 3D has finally hit the screens and I got to catch a screening of it yesterday.

I entered the hall with my head full of expectations because I really liked the ABCD series but I came out of the theatre after experiencing a tedious two-hour non-stop dance drama.

Coming to the plot, the basic storyline of the movie is based on two groups in London that are at loggerheads and want to take each other down every time they meet in a dance battle. Yep. Just like every other dance movie there is.

One group, comprising NRIs, is led by Sahej (Varun Dhawan) and the other with Pakistani dancers, is headed by Inayat (Shraddha Kapoor). The movie falls into the clichè category of using the India-Pakistan rivalry and, at times, even uses cricket matches as a metaphor to show their hatred towards each other.

Remo also capitalizes on Prabhudeva as you get to see the reprised version of the iconic dance number Muqabla, which is surely one of the main highlights of the movie, however, one groovy song alone doesnât save the movie from falling flat on its face as it flounders without a stable storyline, riddled with gaping holes. 

The movie does touch upon a sensitive matter, for which I do appreciate the makers, as it shows the plight of immigrants in London who have been waiting to back home and guess what? One of the immigrants is played by Aparshakti Khurana and he will completely blow your mind with his performance. Well, I cannot give any spoilers here, obviously, so itâs for you to see for yourself.

Then, you have strong dancers like Raghav Juyal, Dharmesh Yelande and Punit Pathak who are just shown in the background to, obviously, support the lead cast. 

If you have seen ABCD 2, you would agree that this time around, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor fail to impress because the last time, their dance game was way stronger. 

Nora Fatehi does burn the dance floor but is soon sidelined and her presence is pretty much forgotten. 

In the end, you see both the teams joining hands to take on the local British dance crew, in a bid to win the big prize and help the immigrants.

Besides that, pretty much nothing else happens in this movie.
