After a long, drawn-out month of promotions, Imtiaz Aliâs Love Aaj Kal 2 hit screens rather fittingly on Valentineâs Day, as fans of leads Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan went into theatres with high hopes. 

While the director has had a string of successes in the past with Rockstar, Tamasha and Highway, todayâs release has firmly divided moviegoers, with a rather sizable majority finding the film awkward - especially when it came to the script.

A few even turned the film on itself, making memes out of Sara Ali Khanâs dialogues - a pity considering that a few fans did appreciate her performance in the film:

A user even criticised the film for being misogynistic in how it wrote Khanâs character arc:

All this negativity must be trying for Ali, who returned to the directorâs chair following his work for Jab Harry Met Sejal - a universally panned project that led several fans to doubt Shah Rukh Khanâs ability at choosing film signings.

Not all was lost, however. The film does feature Randeep Hooda in the role of Raj - the actor was last seen in Baaghi 2. In a sea of negative comments, a fair number of users took a moment to appreciate his performance in the film, calling it âthe one good thing in Love Aaj Kal 2â.
