On days when Bollywood's OG Khiladi Akshay Kumar is not busy smashing box office records, the actor is busy doing his bit for the welfare of the society and people.
This time around, he has joined hands with director Raghava Lawrence to provide a home and a better life to transgenders. Reportedly, Akshay Kumar who will soon be seen in Laxmmi Bomb has donated Rs. 1.5 crores to build home for the transgenders for the first time in India. According to Raghava, during the shooting of Laxmmi Bomb, he spoke about this project with Akshay Kumar and how he was trying to raise funds, to which Akshay immediately said that he will donate money to build the home.

The news was shared by Raghava on Facebook, where he also thanked Akshay for his contribution. He wrote, "Hai friends and fans, I would like to share one good news, Akshay kumar sir is donating 1.5 crores for building transgender home for the first time in India. As everyone is already aware that Larencce Charitable Trust has been initiating various projects for education, home for kids, medical and physically abled dancers. Our trust is now entering into its 15th year. We wanted to celebrate this 15th year by initiating a new project for uplifting transgenders by providing shelter for them."
He further wrote, "Our trust has provided the land and we were looking forward to raise funds for the building, so during Laxmmi Bomb shoot I was talking to Akshay kumar sir about the trust projects and transgenderâs home, immediately after hearing this without even me asking he told he will donate 1.5 cores for building transgenderâs home. I consider everyone who helps as god, so now Akshay kumar sir is a god for us. I thank him for lending his huge support for this project. Our trust next vision is to uplift transgenderâs and provide shelter for them all over India with Akshay Kumarâs sir support. I thank him in behalf of all transgenderâs. we will inform the bhoomi pooja date soon. I need all your blessing."
Despite people taking a dig at his 'citizenship', the Sooryavanshi actor has time and again gone out of his way to help people and win his fans' hearts through his philanthropic efforts.
