The casting of a movie changes the whole perception and visual aesthetics for viewers. However, we donât realise that before a certain actor takes up a role, several actors reject it, or worse, begin shooting for it and opt out. Here are seven actors who left a movie midway after beginning to shoot for it.

1. Kareena Kapoor in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai

Long before Ameesha Patel got a grand debut opposite heartthrob Hrithik Roshan, Kareena was scheduled to make her debut with this movie. She shot parts of it and eventually walked out. She ended up making a debut with Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan.

2. Sushant Singh Rajput in Half Girlfriend

Sushant was the original choice for the role that eventually went to Arjun Kapoor but because he had already committed to shooting Raabta long before he signed this movie, he chose to stick to the original plan.

3. Aishwarya Rai in Chalte Chalte

Aishwarya was the original choice for this movie opposite SRK. However, as per reports, this was the time when her ex beau Salman Khan ended up coming on the sets and vandalising property. Eventually Aishwarya had to opt out and Rani walked in, making this movie a big hit nonetheless.

4. Kareena Kapoor in Ram Leela

When Kareenaâs costume trial pictures from Ram Leela went viral, her fans were crazy to see her in a big Bhansali production and maybe sheâd have done a good job. Apparently as per reports, Kareena had blocked 100 days for the movie but the production team wanted more which was not possible for her to accommodate, and hence she had to opt out. Well, we all know how that worked out for Deepika.

5. Ranbir Kapoor in Jodha Akbar

I cannot imagine anyone except Hrithik nailing that royal look but in an interview with Rajeev Masand while promoting Bombay Velvet, Ranbir confessed that he opted out of Jodhaa Akbar.

6. Alia Bhatt in Raabta

Initially Alia was supposed to star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Raabta but owing to date issues, she opted out. It was reported that she gave her dates to KJoâs  Shuddhi which was also stalled eventually.

7. Tara sutaria in Kabir Singh

Though the movie was one of the biggest hits of 2019, it ended up being controversyâs favourite child as well. Long before Kiara Advaniâs portrayal of Preeti was appreciated by her fans and judged by critics alike, reportedly Tara Sutaria was the original choice. However, rumour has it that she felt her role was overshadowed by the actorâs role and hence opted to work in Marjaavan opposite rumoured beau Sidharth Malhotra.
