Taking you back in time to give you a better idea of what went down so that âchronology samajhnaâ is easy for you, around two weeks ago Hotstar India banned an episode of Tonight With John Oliver which featured the show presenter making some strong arguments against PM Modi and the government's ideologies. Post that,  Indian presenter Arnab Goswami bashed John Oliver on his show and even went on to call him âignoramus of exceedingly global proportions". John Oliver took it up as a personal responsibility to respond to these accusations and do some reality check of his own, which in turn has now become internetâs favourite digital argument.

From calling him the Kunal Kamra of the West to simply being amused by this savage response, Twitter is blowing up in the heat of the moment.

Arnab Goswami messed with the wrong guy. John Oliver ran rings around him and embarrassed him in front of the whole word without insulting him once. Arnab's finished!

The nation is also divided on the OTT platformâs decision to not air that particular episode because so much for freedom of speech, right? Anyway, there has been no official word from the Republic TV show host for now, so continue to stay tuned in if this piques your interest.
