China Releases New Video Mocking USA's Late COVID-19 Respons & People Are Calling It Propaganda

It looks like China has attempted to mock the United States with a short video that says that the U.S did not pay heed to China's warnings amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

On April 29, Chinaâs state-run news agency Xinhua posted an animated video on the internet, titled âOnce Upon a Virus.â In it, two mock figures representing the two countries exchange dialogue over coronavirus. The Chinese representation mocks Americaâs late response to the COVID-19 pandemic and also paints Chinaâs response in a flattering light, backed by seemingly reliable facts at the same time.

The video has gone on to generate a lot of buzz on Twitter. Users started to call Chinaâs claims of warning âfakeâ and âmisleading.â Others also pointed out how this could be more damaging to China. Here's the video:

The coronavirus pandemic first started from Wuhan in China inâDecember 2019 and rapidly spread across the world, affecting more than three million people and resulting in over 2,00,000 deaths so far. China has reported fewer cases and deaths that were previously even lesser, before they had randomly increased their figures by almost 50% overnight. Still, COVID-19 has worst impacted the United States, with the largest outbreak amongst other affected countries.

People started calling it propaganda from China for image control since a lot of political leaders are clearly expressing their anger towards the country.

False propaganda from the Chinese ambassador to France, whitewashing over its government's deceptions and mocking U.S. objections to its human rights abuses. RTing so folks can see the Chinese government lying in real time -- https://t.co/yg3MX5S5ud

USâPresident Donald Trump has lashed out at China on multiple occasions during the daily press conferences on COVID-19. Donald Trump has also expressed that the trade deal with China is now of secondary importance to the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, he has also threatened China with new increased tariffs as his administration is in the process of drafting retaliatory measures in the post-pandemic world.
