Monkeys In Meerut Run Away With COVID-19 Samples & Leave People Worried Over Spread Of Infection

Monkey menace isnât a new thing in India; however, it is the least of the things that people want to deal with right now. From snatching food items to anything that catches their fancy, monkeys are always curious about things with human beings. However, this time they ended up on the wrong side with their capers.

In a bizarre turn of events, on May 29, a troop of monkeys attacked a lab technician, who was carrying COVID-19 test samples of suspected COVID-19 patients, in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut.

According to a news report in Times Now, the monkeys snatched the samples of the suspected COVID-19 patients from the lab technician and ran away, which has only led to fear and panic among people.

The woes seem to only keep getting worse with every passing day, as when one thing gets dealt with, the other begins!

The report suggested that the samples belonged to patients on the Meerut Medical College premises.

Soon, one of the monkeys, who attacked the lab technician, was spotted atop a tree chewing the sample collection kits - making the situation only worse.

Parts of some kits, said the report, were spotted strewn on the ground under the tree. The video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.

Here, check it out:
