Many of us are missing travelling right now and some of us even had big plans to travel this year but the pandemic has restricted us to do so. However, one Taiwanese airport has come up with a unique solution for people who are missing travelling. So, at Taipeiâs downtown Songshan airport, people can get a fake travel itinerary, and people can check-in and board the aircraft. However, the aircraft will never leave.

You are going to travel along with a total of 60 people to nowhere and thatâs the sad reality. Around 7000 people participated to take part and winners were chosen randomly. Also, it seems like such fake flight experiences will increase in the near future. After all, according to WHO, the pandemic is not even close to getting over.

Hsiao Chun-wei, 38, said, "I really want to leave the country, but because of the epidemic lots of flights can't fly.â

According to the people who experienced it expressed that the whole process was very real. The passengers even got boarding passes and proceeded through security and immigration as we used to while travelling. And then boarded an Airbus A330 of China Airlines, where the people also got a chance to chat with the flight attendants. A 48-year woman said, "I hope the epidemic ends soon so we can really fly away.â Not only this, the airport is using the occasion to show off renovations and is also utilizing this chance to acquaint people with the Coronavirus prevention steps.

Due to COVID-19, fewer flights are flying and the numbers have plummeted by 64% in the first half of 2020.
