Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2's Hinge Survived A Dust Bath & Now We Think It Can Take Anything

Even though the Galaxy Z Fold 2 gets a respectable nod from critics for being one of the best foldable phones out there, there's just no denying that a lot of people have concerns with its durability. It's a foldable phone, after all. We can't expect it to be as durable as our normal smartphones.

However, a durability test by YouTuber 'JerryRigEverything' suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is quite durable. He even claims that its hinge lives up to Samsung’s claim that it’s sturdier than the one on the original Galaxy Fold. Here, check out the video -

As you can see, he started off with his normal scratch test on the device, following which he decided to give it a dust bath. Yes, he legit poured dust on the phone to see if it survives. You can see that the hinge seems to be working fine even after the bath and so does the fingerprint scanner.

Obviously, none of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 users are going to have so much sand/dust on them or leave their device unattended like that. But it's an interesting test nonetheless and it shows that Samsung has truly improved the quality standards to make the phone more durable.
