The Company That Makes Processors For Android Phones Is Making A Gaming Phone & We Can't Wait

Almost all the powerful flagship Android phones are powered by the processors made by Qualcomm. They make some of the best SoC out there and are rightfully dominating the space. The company is now gearing up to announce their new Snapdragon 875 SoC later this year, but we have a new report which says that they're working on a gaming phone.

Yes, it looks like Qualcomm is working on a gaming phone. The report claims that Qualcomm will partner with ASUS to make these new phones. This first product in this lineup is expected to as early as the end of this year.

“Qualcomm reportedly will team up with Asustek Computer to develop and launch its own-brand gaming smartphones at the end of 2020 at the earliest, according to industry sources,” says the report.

This new gaming phone is expected to be the first phone in the world to be powered by the upcoming new Snapdragon 875 SoC. We don't have much info on the processor itself, but you can expect it to be one of the fastest processors out there on the market, going head-to-head Apple's new processors for the new iPhones.

At this point, it's not entirely clear if we'll get a new ROG Phone under this partnership or we'll see a new line up altogether. We're hoping to learn more about this partnership and these new phones in December during the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020. The Tech Summit is going to be a virtual event this year due to the pandemic and it'll take place on December 1 & 2.
