Over the last couple of years, we've been seeing a lot of budget phone manufacturers stepping up their game by offering flagship-level specs and features on budget devices. Today, phones like the Realme 7 Pro, which costs under Rs 20,000, comes with features like 65W fast-charging. That's something that even the iPhone 11 Pro doesn't support.

Along the same lines, it looks like Xiaomi is planning to go out of their way and offer a 108MP camera on their next budget phone. According to a new report, it looks like Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi Note 10 will ship with a 108MP sensor, a first for Xiaomi's budget series.

This particular info is coming directly from China, which is where most of the info about these new Chinese phones show up for the first time. Although the post didn't specifically mention the name of the phone, it did say that a phone with a model number ending with 'J17' may have a 108MP camera.

And another tip from a source had confirmed that the Redmi Note 10 series would have the model number M2007J17C. So it shouldn't really be hard to connect the dots here.

If Xiaomi manages to make this happen, then it'll be a huge blow to the competition. Most phones in this segment offer only a 48MP or a 64MP camera.  So not only will it be a huge upgrade over the Redmi Note 9, it'll probably be better than any other phones in this segment.

As for the availability, it looks like the Redmi Note 10 will launch sometime this month, although we're not entirely sure when it'll come to India. We think it should arrive before the end of 2020, but let's wait.
