At what point will people finally realize that cutting trees is not actually the worst thing that can happen to the environment? No, I genuinely want to know, because it's 2020 and people still have to protest in order to save trees. Come on, now.

Reportedly, about 243 acres of forest land will be transferred by the Uttarakhand government to the Airport Authority of India in order to expand Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport. 

As of now, the final verdict is pending as the National Wildlife Board has to give approval since the forest falls within a 10 km radius of the Rajaji National Park Eco-Sensitive Zone.

If the approval is given, then it would result in over 10,000 trees being chopped down which is obviously devastating for the environment.

12-year-old global climate activist Ridhima Pandey said, "We are hell-bent on destroying our ecosystem mercilessly. This is a threat to the whole of mankind. These forests are the source of life. We will be protesting against the felling of trees until the decision is reversed."
