When the news dropped today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going to address the nation at 6 pm, everyone was bracing themselves for something super serious, but it's fine people, we don't have demonetization-level news today. 

PM Modi basically gave an update, of sorts, with no big bombs dropping and just updated the people about the pandemic situation we have going on. 

He talked about how India is doing pretty well in handling COVID-19 compared to countries like Brazil and the USA and assured citizens that the government is working on the vaccine.

But, the main reason people believe that the national address happened was so that PM Modi could also get a chance to show off his quarantine beard.
