The president of the Board of Cricket for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, has become a diehard fan of ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle and his ageless batting skills ever since his debut in the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League nearly a month after the tournament began.
Struggling to find a spot in the Playing XI of his franchise, Kings XI Punjab for the first seven games due to the unfortunate ‘4-overseas-players only’ rule established by the IPL, Gayle was supposed to play for the roster in their seventh match but went down with an ill-timed case of food poisoning.

In his latest venture against Delhi Capitals - the best team in the league right now, Gayle set yet another record, this time of scoring 25 runs in an over for the seventh time in league history. He baptised a young Tushar Deshpande for 26 runs in six balls.
Chris Gayle has scored 25 or more runs in an over in IPL 7 times.

Gayle as a professional athlete and an entertainer has always been known to be ‘larger than life’. He’s flamboyant, a little controversial in his comments at times and loves to party, dance and become a part of anything that’s not mundane.
However, former Indian skipper Ganguly got to see the other side of Chris Gayle during his time away from the field. On Star Sports Ganguly said:
“We all think Chris Gayle keeps laughing and roaming but it pinched him that he has been made to sit out. These are the things to see and learn from. IPL is just too much competition.”

The most important man in the Indian cricket fraternity, Dada was also asked about his favourite moment from the ongoing season of the T20 league and he struggled hard before answering:
Gayle and KXIP are a couple of wins away from being in a Playoff spot and will be looking forward to improving their record against David Warner’s SunRisers Hyderabad on Saturday.
