The power of the internet was recently witnessed by the entire nation when the elderly couple of ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ went viral on social media after their plight for survival pulled at people’s heartstrings. The old food stall owners’ joint became a hotspot overnight as a flurry of people thronged their humble eatery located in New Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area.

Not only did their business pick up, but it also sent out a strong message to everyone to look out for their local vendors and help them get business in these times of need. Now weeks after the incident, yet another old man is trending on social media as netizens urge Bengaluru residents to support the old man who sells saplings on the roadside.

It was TNIE assistant editor Ashwini M Sripad who shared about the old man named Revana Siddappa on Twitter. Urging people to buy saplings from him while passing through Sarakki Signal on Kanakapura Road, Ashwini wrote that the old man sells the saplings for Rs 10 to Rs 30 and people should consider buying if they are passing by the area.

People on the microblogging site have come together to reach out to the old man not only to buy saplings from him but to also help him with other necessities like canopy chairs and  masks. Some have even shared pictures from their visit.

While many have promised to visit soon, others are trying to help by spreading the word and calling for the gardening community’s attention. A visitor also shared that Mr Siddappa is selling useful herbs such as Ajwain, Tulsi, Aloe Vera and the like.

We are buying canopy chairs and some stocks for him to sell. If anyone wants to help, you can reach out to us,

We will pool together and help!
