2020 brought with itself a truckload of swift and massive changes.

Changes that nobody could have predicted would become unavoidable for our survival and ones that would give this year a much-needed makeover.

One such thing to have undergone a massive facelift is the Indian wedding.

Gone are the days of big fat Indian weddings. This year, most desi weddings came sans the extravaganza, huge gathering, loud AF live bands, fireworks, and a feast that could feed an entire village.

A lot has changed with the coronavirus playing the uninvited, stubborn guest to 2020.

With government restrictions on hosting weddings, couples have either postponed their weddings or have been forced to get married under restrictions which call for physical distancing and a limited guest list.

But it seems some people have found a way to make their D-Day special despite all the limitations.

Hours ago, a guest shared how a family in Tamil Nadu found the perfect way to celebrate the wedding of their son by not only having a live webcast of the ceremony but also arranging for the kalyana sappadu aka wedding meal to be delivered to the guests at their doorstep!

The guests were sent packages with fresh banana leaves and tiffin boxes filled with 12 different preparations and condiments. The package also came with a picture card with detailed instructions regarding where each food item is to be placed.

The idea was to enjoy the wedding with a webcast and round it up with a hearty wedding feast from the comfort of their homes.

Excellent idea, don’t you agree? We’re all for this and looking forward to such a wedding invite soon!

People online are also loving this idea.

I can't believe the level of detail. I never knew that each item had a specific place on the banana leaf.

Yes everyone could eat together and at a given time, open the packs and be present via zoom or similar app ,with some festive music playing in the background .'Sagan' could be transferred to the bank account indicated on the invitation .The times we live in. Flavourless !

Incredible!! This is too cool! Any idea on the caterers / contractors who are doing this? Will be helpful. I’m sure logistics is a big challenge in this, other than the usual issues of food freshness and taste compared to live counters.

Love the detailing, they also told the places in the banana leaf where each item needs to be served !
