Samsung mobile has confirmed that the company will be bringing some Galaxy Note features to other phones in 2021 but there may still be a new Galaxy Note in 2021. The news comes via The Verge who reached out to Samsung Mobile Boss TM Roh.

An earlier report by Yonhap suggests that Samsung will not cancel the Galaxy Note series in 2021 and The Verge reached out to Samsung for more clarity on the subject. The publication was provided with the following statement:

“Samsung confirms plans to bring some of the most beloved features of the Galaxy Note to more device categories in 2021. We remain committed to providing the best mobile experience to our consumers and will continue to actively listen and consider consumer feedback in all our product innovations. We cannot share any further details at this time.”

The statement has raised many questions as Samsung has not clearly said whether the company will be cancelling the Note series in 2021. However, one thing that has been confirmed is that we can expect features that were previously exclusive to the Galaxy Note series will be available on other smartphones. One of the main features rumoured to make its way to the upcoming Galaxy S21 is the support for S Pen. We could see other features make their way too, however we can only be sure once Samsung makes it official.

There are rumours that the Galaxy Note series might make the shift to foldable phones which makes sense. In fact, one of our criticisms of the Galaxy Fold 2 was the lack of support for S Pen. Foldable phones tend to have a larger canvas when taking screen size into account and it would be logical to brand these smartphones as the next Note series with support for a stylus and other business-friendly features. 

Samsung is expected to reveal its next flagship smartphone in January 2021 and for now, the lineup looks quite impressive. We will have to wait and see what Samsung has up its sleeve in terms of new features for the upcoming smartphone.
