‘Vinod Kambli In The Making’ Fans Lash Out At Prithvi Shaw After The Duck-Out In First Test

Indian opener Prithvi Shaw gave up his wicket on a duck on an inside-edge while trying to hit a cover drive.

Completely misjudging the Mitchell Starc delivery, Shaw had to walk back to the pavilion after facing just two balls in the much anticipated pink-ball Test match between India and Australia in Adelaide.

Check out the dismissal here:

A lot has been said about the young batsman’s lack of footwork while trying to go for shots like a cover drive and surely enough the same argument will be made as Shaw would look back at this moment during the first innings.

Struggling to get back in form, Shaw managed to stick to the pitch for little to no time during the practice matches against Australia A. In the four innings that he played for his side, Shaw’s scores read 0, 19, 40 and 3 respectively.

His presence in the team was also put to debate given his form and also the fact that there are no left-handed batsmen in the current Playing XI.

Unable to breath life in his game since the Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates, Shaw painted a huge target on his back while the lack of footwork. Even during the practice games, it became evident that the Aussies had a simple strategy to get his wicket - to keep bowling away from him towards off.

After yet another disappoint stint in the middle, here’s how cricket fans reacted to Shaw’s dismissal:
