SC Issues Notice To Comedian Kunal Kamra On Contempt Pleas & People Are Like ‘Ab Kya Hogaya’

Kunal Kamra has once again fallen into trouble for allegedly denigrating judges and the judiciary. The Supreme Court on Friday, 18th December, issued notices to comedian Kunal Kamra and comic illustrator Rachita Taneja on a petition seeking criminal contempt action against them.

The proceedings happened against Kunal Kamra after his tweet that was about the Supreme Court and its judges. On the other hand, Rachita Taneja has been accused of publishing allegedly objectionable caricatures on social media handles about the judiciary.

Both have been given six weeks to file their replies and their case will be heard by a bench that comprises of justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy, and MR Shah.

What Kunal Kamra Tweeted?

He tweeted two tweets, over which the case was filed against him and it read as “Honour has left the building (Supreme Court) long back” and “The Supreme Court of this Country is the most Supreme joke of this country.”

He also posted a third tweet wherein it showed the image of the Supreme Court building dressed in BJP flag on top instead of the national flag.

Here’s what people on the internet have to say about this-

Haha well it’s better to pay 100 . If I’m case @kunalkamra88 does another contempt in future . LoL
