Someone Got 'Cyberpunk 2077' Running On The Nintendo Switch Using This Clever Hack

Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a very rocky launch with the game running like hot trash on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The game would often dip to 15 frames per second and have texture pop-in issues which would make it look like a game from the 1990s. However, someone got Cyberpunk 2077 running on the Nintendo Switch using a hack and running Google Stadia.

YouTuber NintenDrew managed to get Cyberpunk 2077 running on the Nintendo Switch, however it is not as easy as it seems. In order to run the game, one needs to have a modified Switch. In fact, in the video, he said “getting Cyberpunk 2077 running on the Switch does involve some modifications that are not endorsed or supported by Nintendo" and adds that "any mod has the potential to brick your system.

On a modified Switch, one will need to sideload a modified version of Android and download the Stadia app. He said there are different ways to get Cyberpunk 2077 running on the Nintendo Switch, however Google Stadia is the easiest solution so far.

The stadia app will recognise the two JoyCon controllers as a single Xbox controller and you can start playing the game with mapping any of the keys. You can even connect a Pro controller via Bluetooth and the app will recognise it as an Xbox controller. The game will run at 720p resolution when used on handheld mode and will be upscaled to 1080p when docked. The Google Stadia version of the game looks and runs better than its console counterparts and it seems like the best way to experience the game if you don’t have a PC.
