Jasprit Bumrah Didn’t Know He Bowled Steve Smith, Teammates Draw His Attention To Fallen Bail

Jasprit Bumrah is just 15 International Tests old but the man definitely knows how to get the best of the batsmen off the field.

Bowling the 33rd over for India, Bumrah’s ripper of a delivery rushed past Steve Smith with just enough contact with the bails to have one of them dislodge and fall on the ground. The touch was so minimalistic that neither the bowler nor the batsman realised what had happened.

Hilarious with the commentary the previous ball + the actual dismissal + Bumrah’s reaction. pic.twitter.com/CDdAIOCIj6

Immediately after the contact, Bumrah turned around to appeal to the umpire for an LBW. On the other hand, Steve Smith, who did turn around to see where the ball had gone, also didn’t possibly see the fallen bail as he quickly decided to run for a single.

It was Bumrah’s teammates who had to calm down the super-excited pacer and draw his attention towards the stumps to make him see that he had already done the damage. The unorthodox Australian legend was out.

Still, just to be sure of the dismissal, the leg umpire decided to go upstairs for a slow-motion review but the third umpire didn’t take long to give the final verdict in favour of the Indians.

Here’s how the fans reacted to the unusual dismissal:

Smith Getting bowled round the legs !!.
Only Bumrah can do it.#INDvAUS
