Indian Fans Rally Behind T Natarajan As He Shares 'Proud Moment' Of Donning Test Jersey

For someone who was busy delivering newspapers and milk to support his poor family, Thangarasu Natarajan has undeniably come a long way to prove his mettle in the world of cricket.

Ever since taking the 2017 IPL Auctions by storm on the back of a Rs 3 Crore paycheck, there has been no turning back for the left-arm seamer.

His exploits in IPL 2020 also earned him a national call-up as he made his way in India's playing XI for the limited-overs series against Australia. Owing to his brilliant performances and a bit of luck (injury to other players), Natarajan is now set to make his Test debut as India gear up for the key clash against the Aussies in the 3rd Test.

The 29-year-old will be replacing Umesh Yadav, who sustained a strain in his left calf muscle during the Boxing Day Test, for the upcoming match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Ahead of the match, slated to begin from 7th January, Natarajan took to social media and shared his excitement with fans.

Taking to Twitter, the Indian seamer shared a picture of himself where he was seen donning the Test whites. "A proud moment to wear the white jersey Flag of India Ready for the next set of challenges #TeamIndia @BCCI," he captioned the post.

Following a spectacular comeback win at the MCG, India have been dealt with critical blows ahead of the 3rd Test.

After the likes of Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, dashing batsman KL Rahul has now become the latest addition to India's injury list.

The Karnataka batsman sprained his left wrist while batting in the nets, which has now ruled him out of the remaining two Tests.
