Sonu Sood Lands Into Legal Trouble & Here’s Why BMC Has Asked Mumbai Police To Register An FIR

Sonu Sood, who has been in the headlines for all his humanitarian work all this while, has landed into legal trouble. The year 2021 hasn’t started on a good note for the actor.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has registered a police complaint against actor Sonu Sood and his wife Sonali Sood for allegedly converting his six-storey Mumbai building into a hotel without permission. Yes, you heard it right.

ANI confirmed the news update as it tweeted, "Maharashtra: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has filed a police complaint against actor Sonu Sood for allegedly converting a six-storey residential building in Juhu into a hotel without BMC's permission."

As per the BMC, Sonu Sood was first served a notice on October 27, 2020, and the deadline to respond to that ended November 26, 2020. The BMC officials said Sonu was given ample time to respond but he chose to ignore it. The complaint letter said that the development work is in complete violation of the MRTP Act (Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act).

After the news started to get viral, people had divided opinions on the case. Some called him a show-off and some supported Sonu and bashed the BMC.

BMC is jealous. That's a shelter home for poor, not a hotel. Messiah is framed with wrong charges.

BMC did the right thing.. We Support BMC.. Just because he is actor doesnt mean he can do anything he wants.. Illegal activities should not be Entertained at all.

There are hundreds of residential buildings converted into commercial one for shops across south Mumbai. Why BMC is not filing cases against such conversions. In facts residents in South Mumbai are suffer due to such conversions

What a brutally honest man. He released a book 'I am not a Messiah', just recently.

Incorrect news. Reality is, Sonu has been running this hotel since a while. Only after a complaint from an activist, a FIR has been filed as a face saver.

For BMC, different people, different rules 🥺
