The Weeknd Scares Fans With 'Botox-Filled' Transformed Face & It’s Something Out Of Our Nightmares

Blinding Lights singer The Weeknd shocked his Instagram followers when he posted a selfie of what looked like a surgically enhanced face.

The Weeknd is the stage name for Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. He first became popular in mainstream media with his album Starboy.

He posted a seemingly heavy botox-filled selfie as can be seen here as his face is visibly transformed with apparent facial modifications.

The Weeknd had the same look in his music video for the song Save Your Tears that came out on January 5, 2021. He captioned the photo with, “Hello Ken, where's Barbie.” Some fans are even questioning if it's real.

In his music video, The Weeknd takes off the bloodied bandages wrapped around his face to unveil a botched-up face full of botox, fillers, and plastic surgery.

While he was at it, he was seen wearing a red sparkly jacket and black pants, which has now become his signature for the After Hours album.

But as convincing as it looks, he didn't get plastic surgery—he just paid for some really good prosthetics. Whew!

He faked a botched plastic surgery courtesy of special-effects and prosthetics artist Mike Marino.

Critics have pointed out that this new appearance is a reference to his song "Escape From LA," where he says, all "LA girls look the same."

Marino too shared posts on Instagram flaunting his work with a step-by-step process of what it took to design the prosthetics, "My original rough sculpture and separated appliances with textures. Consisting of 4 prosthetic appliances, the main face being a collapsible mold," he wrote in the post.
