A day after his team snatched a remarkable draw from the jaws of what once looked like a certain defeat against Australia, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja gave fans back home more reason to cheer for.

The left-hander shared a picture of himself from the hospital bed following  successful surgery for his dislocated thumb. Jaddu was seen lying on the hospital bed with his left hand wrapped in strappings and tied to his neck for support.

Apart from the photo, Jadeja also shared a message that read: "Out of action for a while surgery completed. But will soon return with a bang!".

Jadeja picked up the injury while batting during the first innings for India in the drawn 3rd Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Despite his injury, the 32-year-old was also seen padded up in the pavilion in a bid to rescue India in dire situations. However, the crucial partnership between Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin ensured Jadeja didn't need to walk out to bat.

Though he has undergone successful surgery, Jadeja's recovery will keep him out of action for the upcoming 4th Test in Brisbane.

He was the most successful bowler for India, with figures of 4-62, in the first innings and also ran Steve Smith out with a direct hit. Thus, the Indian cricket team is bound to miss him dearly at the Gabba.
