The rivalry between the fans of the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams was once again set ablaze on Twitter when the International Cricket Council put a poll to see who among “giants” like Imran Khan, Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers and Meg Lanning was the best.

“Captaincy proved a blessing for some extraordinary cricketers. Their averages improved as leaders. You decide which of these ‘pacesetters’ were the best among these geniuses!,” the ICC tweeted.

While de Villiers received 6% of the total votes, Lanning got 0.5%. The main competition then turned out to be between Kohli and Khan.

By the end of the poll, the former Pakistani skipper had acquired 47.3% of the total votes which was 1.1% more than what Kohli had (46.2%).

Who would you rate as the best among these giants?

“#CaptainsMonth. The results are out!. You’ve decided the best ‘pacesetter’. The indomitable Imran Khan has emerged as the highest-rated captain, beating Virat Kohli, Meg Lanning, and AB de Villiers in the poll,” ICC added to the same Twitter thread upon declaring the winner.

The results of this Twitter poll by the ICC were shown on a Pakistani media channel as ‘breaking news’. They also had a reporter break down how the poll was held and even describe how close the competition was before their side came up triumphant.
