‘Good Fun Or Real Anger?’ Video Emerges Of Mohammed Siraj Holding Kuldeep Yadav By His Neck

Ahead of the commencement of the four-match India-England Test series, a majority of the fans of the Indian cricket team were convinced that Kuldeep Yadav will finally get to see the greens of the field in the Chepauk clash in Chennai.

But when the official Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed India’s Playing XI mere hours ahead of toss, everyone was rather stunned to see the chinaman’s name missing from the roster, while one-Test old Shahbaz Nadeem was included rotation instead of him.

‘Voice of Indian cricket’ Harsha Bhogle even tried making sense of this move made by skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri but ended up questioning the team’s commitment towards Yadav.

Clearly, England's struggle against Embuldeniya has prompted the selection of Shahbaz Nadeem, a fine, vastly experienced finger spinner. But I wonder what this means for Kuldeep. Clearly the team management doesn't rate him too high at thr moment

“Clearly, England's struggle against Embuldeniya has prompted the selection of Shahbaz Nadeem, a fine, vastly experienced finger spinner. But I wonder what this means for Kuldeep. Clearly the team management doesn't rate him too high at thr moment (sic),” Bhogle tweeted.

Now after the first two days of the first Test, the cameramen captured Yadav and his fellow bench-warmer Mohammed Siraj making the most out of their free time in the dressing room.

However, there was this one moment which has become a huge point of discussion ahead of the inception of Day 3.

According to the scenes, once every member of the Indian Playing XI had come back to the dressing room following the end of play on Day 2, Siraj was seen grabbing Yadav by his neck before saying something in his ear.

The spinner on the other hand looked to be caught by surprise with Siraj’s actions.

It did not take long for the fans to start speculating what was going on between the two teammates and whether the encounter was serious or in good fun.

While it is normal for athletes to show some ‘aggressive love’ towards their teammates, the stunned reaction by Yadav makes the situation look more uncertain.

The past two years have not been ideal for the young spin bowler who has not played in a single Test match since the red-ball contest against Tim Paine’s Australian side at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Yadav’s phenomenal five-wicket haul against the hosts played a crucial part in allowing the Men in Blue to win their very first Test series on Australia soil.
