With the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League just a month and a half away, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced a shortlist of 292 players who are eligible for the upcoming mini-auction.

Scheduled to take place on February 18, 2021, the auction ahead of this year’s IPL had 1,114 players from all over the world hoping to get entry into the most lucrative and famous T20 league in global cricket but approximately 25% of them could only qualify for an opportunity to go under the hammer and play for one of the eight franchises.

Every player established their own base-price - the minimum amount for which they are willing to enter the tournament and play for the teams.

And while most of the new-comers or out-of-form players decide on a low base-price, the more famous athletes can set the bar to as high as Rs. 2 crore per season.
