MS Dhoni has always had a rather understated sense of style. You will rarely see him wearing something flashy, or something that turns heads.

That is not to say that the man is not a style icon. On the contrary, he has given us some of the coolest fashion goals, and hairstyle goals ever.

Well, recently, he was spotted at the Mumbai Airport wearing a rather dope looking pair of sneakers and joggers. 

However, it was his watch that stole the show.

Let’s have a look at his outfit first.

Mahi is seen here wearing a rather dope, and understated athleisure outfit, that matches his persona. 

He’s wearing a very dope looking camouflage-printed long-sleeved T-shirt, that has some cool, urban touches to it.

Along with that, he has paired a very technical-looking pair of joggers from the French high fashion brand, Balmain.

One aspect of his outfit that caught our eye, were his high-top sneakers. They have the silhouette and the aesthetic of a pair of highly-functional mountaineering boots, sans the chunky treaded sole.

The sneakers that we see here are again from Balmain. 

Called the High Top B-Troop Sneakers in Black, these sneakers are made from treated calfskin leather and have some really technical-looking straps on them.

The straps aren’t just for show. They can be adjusted to allow the sneakers to fit one’s feet in the snuggest way possible. 

This is one of the many qualities that make the sneakers a functional and technical piece.

The sneakers aren’t exactly cheap, if you’re thinking of getting your hands on a pair of these. They retail for about $790, or roughly Rs 60,000 when converted. 

Add to that your regular customs and import duties, and you’re looking at a price tag of about Rs 90,000.

As we said, it was his watch that stole the show though. Mahi is seen here wearing a rather dope looking timepiece from Panerai. 

Particularly, he’s wearing the Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech in 47mm.

The watch’s case is made of a specialised carbon fibre called Carbotech. It gets its pattern from the manner in which it is cut, which means no two watches have the same pattern.

As for the face, it is made using carbon fibre. The hour markers and the hands are painted with radium, which causes it to glow in the dark. 

As for the straps, there are tons of rubber, or fabric-based straps one can choose from. This actually adds to the militaristic appeal of the watch.

All in all, the watch is a really dope piece. And expensive as well. In India, it retails for Rs 30 Lakhs, plus taxes.

Dhoni does know how to pick his watches. We particularly like the militaristic aesthetic of the watch, and how it matches that of his overall outfit.
