Haryana To Have 75% Reservation For Locals In Pvt Jobs & People Think It's Noida’s Time To Shine

Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya yesterday approved a bill that outlines 75% reservation for locals in private sector jobs.

The bill, named The Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Bill, 2020, had been passed by the Haryana Assembly late last year and allows for local candidates domiciled in the state to enjoy 75% reservation in private sector jobs that pay a salary of under Rs 50,000 per month.

The decision to reserve 75% of private sector jobs was a key poll promise made by BJP’s coalition partner in Haryana, Jannayak Janta Party. “The government will notify it [the bill] soon,” Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said at a press conference.

Of course, soon after news of the governor's assent broke came the reactions of the public. And the general consensus seems to be that this is going to be bad news for the corporates and MNCs that have made Gurgaon their hub.

And of course, it’s not a good look for the job prospects of those living outside the state either.

So should I stop applying for jobs in Gurgaon? https://t.co/UiK09px79v

Most seem to think that it’s time for Noida to shine.

Investors watching these developments would be eyeing up Noida/Greater Noida instead.

Gurgaon's entire growth story has been on the back of MNCs setting up shop, incentivizing people from across N India to shift to Gurgaon in search of greener pastures.https://t.co/YwUSqIZWQP

That's one way to make sure every single Gurgaon IT companies move to Noida and Delhi.
