China Introduces Anal Swab Testing For Visitors 'Butt' We Wonder If It Will Hurt

As the world continues to get used to the new ‘normal’ of living amidst the COVID-19 virus and spending their lives with sanitizers, social distancing and face masks, the Corona scare, in reality, is far from being over.

While half of the world is still in partial lockdown and travel restrictions have gotten more strict with time, China has gone a step further in keeping safety as the top priority and has introduced anal swab testing as a new measure for travel purposes.

According to the Chinese Center for Disease Control, the test is performed with a sterile cotton swab, which is inserted 3 cm to 5 cm (1.2 inches to 2 inches) into the anus before being gently rotated out.

There’s a dummy video of how it will look like, which is obviously not very aesthetically pleasing.

Just a reminder of what China’s anal swab test for COVID looks like.

They have now made it mandatory for every foreign arrival into the country.

Naturally, this measure is inviting a lot of wrath from various countries.

In fact, recently, Japan has raised concerns over this anal swab and exclaimed how some of the Japanese travellers have suffered acute psychological pain after this.

People on the internet are very confused with this new measure and, obviously, cannot stop ranting:

South Korean visitors can also submit stool samples instead of the Chinese authorities taking it.

The anal swab test has taken faecal sampling to another level and while just reading about it hurts, we’re pretty sure people are not putting China on their travel map for a very long time.
