JEE Topper Gets 100% In Entrance Exam But Wants To Attempt Again To ‘Boost Confidence’

In a country like India, cracking entrance exams and getting a seat in a prestigious college is like washing away the sins of your whole clan. The achievement is often compared to that of your parents' years of prayers being finally answered.

Most Indian students have gone through the arduous process of preparing and trying to get a seat in a decent college, in the hopes that our neighbours and rishtedaars can never taunt our parents and the ‘log kya kahenge’ doesn’t apply to us.

Anyway, while mere mortals like you and I tried and grated our brains off to crack entrances, some super-dexterous people, like a certain Mr Guramrit Singh, has other plans for life and is eyeing to jump over a bar of expectations higher than a Dubai skyscraper.

Guramrit Singh, a resident of Mohali not only cracked the JEE entrance exam, but also ended up getting an unbelievable 100% as well.

“Yaay, congratulations, let's eat a cake”; one would assume these are the thoughts back home for him but he, in fact, in an interview revealed that he wanted to take the exam again so that it ‘boosts’ his confidence and prepares him for the JEE- Advanced exam as well.

Naturally, people got SO confused and decided to celebrate for him with some memes.

He is one of the six students across the country who got a 100 percentile and clearly, when the slogan ‘ye dil maange more’ was created, this young lad was the inspiration behind it.
