In a recent wave of actors and celebrities testing positive for COVID-19, it seems actor Ranganathan Madhavan has also caught the virus. However, the actor took it upon himself to make the situation a little lighter and broke the news with a joke.

Referencing his movie 3 Idiots, he said, “Farhan has to follow Rancho and Virus has always been after us but this time he bloody caught up,” adding that “this is one place we don’t want Raju in.”

This was in reference to the recent news of Aamir Khan testing positive for COVID-19, who had played the role of Rancho in the movie. 

Of course, Netizens were tickled by his quirky way of announcing his current predicament and flooded him with well wishes while expressing their amusement at his humour.

Only a couple of days ago, Madhavan had shared a video from the set of Amriki Pandit in Bhopal, captioned, “Shoot in Bhopal... with tons of precautions”.

The actor was last seen in Maara, a Tamil adaptation of the 2015 Malayalam film Charlie, which premiered on Prime Video in January. He will also be appearing in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, where he has participated in writing, directing, and production, besides playing the role of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer.

In the past few weeks, Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have also tested positive for the coronavirus, among others.
