Kirron Kher was recently called out for her absence from major political events. And to put an end to rumours about her, her husband Anupam Kher took to social media to reveal that his wife, actor-politician Kirron, has been battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. He said that she is undergoing treatment and reassured fans and well-wishers that she is well on her way to recovery.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Kher wrote, “Just so that rumours don't get the better of a situation Sikandar and I would like to inform everyone that Kirron has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment and we are sure she will come out of this stronger than before. We are very blessed that she is being looked after by a phenomenal set of doctors.”

He also added that she was a fighter and thanked all the fans for wishing the best for her. “She's always been a fighter and takes things head-on. She's all heart and that's why she has so many people that love her. so keep sending your love to her in your prayers and in your heart. She is well on her way to recovery and we thank everyone for their support and love. Anupam and Sikandar,” the note added.

After his statement came out in public, people started to wish for her speedy recovery.

On Wednesday, Chandigarh BJP president Arun Sood said in a press conference that Kirron has been battling cancer since last year. “She had suffered a broken left arm at her Chandigarh house on November 11 last year. After her medical tests at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. The disease had spread to her left arm and right shoulder. For treatment, she had to go to Mumbai on December 4,” he said.

In her toughest days, Anupam Kher has been with her supporting her through her lows. The couple tied the knot in 1985 and even after three decades of togetherness, they still manage to give us major couple goals. On their wedding anniversary last year, Anupam Kher had wished Kirron Kher in the most romantic way possible, saying how he will always be by her side despite their hectic schedules. “Dearest #Kirron!! Happy 35th Anniversary. We have known each other for almost 45years. It is almost a lifetime. We have grown up together as two strong individuals. We don’t get to spend much time together. You are busy being a parliamentarian and I am busy being an actor. But I am and will always be there for you. You are a great girl. Stay safe. Love and prayers always! Saalgirah mubarak!! @kirronkhermp #MarriageAnniversary,” he had written.
