4 Things About Tom Cruise’s 'Top Gun: Maverick' That Have Got Us Excited

The year 2021 looks destined to be a promising year for movie buffs as they will have a chance to watch a list of exciting Hollywood films that include The Matrix 4, Fast & Furious 9, Conjuring 4, Mortal Kombat, A Quiet Place Part II and the latest Bond film, No Time to Die.

However, amongst this very list is a movie of a certain Hollywood superstar, who refuses to age with time and still chooses to do his own stunts- the Mission Impossible star, Tom Cruise.

The 58-year-old actor is set to return as US Navy's daredevil pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the 1986 American action drama film, Top Gun.

Recently, it was announced that the movie's release date was shifted from June to November, and while fans may have been left disappointed for not seeing their hot-shot fighter jet pilot sooner, the wait is only going to make things a lot more sweeter.

Amid the wait, we decided to make a list of things about Top Gun 2 that surely will get fans excited:

Decades after passing out as an ace pilot from the Top Gun, the US Navy's most elite flight school, Tom Cruise's character Maverick returns to the training academy as a top-flight instructor.

While we saw his exploits as a lethal fighter pilot in the first film, we cannot wait to explore how he trains and flies along his trainees to shoot down enemy planes in the sequel.

2. The Iceman-Maverick Rivalry:

People who saw the first Top Gun movie know that movie revolved around the rivalry around characters Maverick (Cruise) and Iceman (Val Kilmer). Kilmer has been confirmed to return as Iceman in the second installment, and we cannot wait for them to take the competition to the next level while flying top-end fighter jets.

3. New Fighter Jets:

Maverick and the rest of the pilots flew in their F-14 Tomcat fighter jets in the first film. However, a lot has changed in the span of decades, and with the new movie trailer showcasing some mean machines ranging from Boeing F/A 18F Super Hornets and the mysterious SR-72 Darkstar aircraft, it sure looks like a visual treat.

4. Whiplash star Miles Teller stars as Goose's son:
