Steve Smith’s ‘Barati Dance Solo’ Is Bringing Out Hilarious Reactions From His Australian Fans

Every year, players from all over the world fly over to India to become a part of the lucrative Indian Premier League (https://www.mensxp.com/topic/ipl.html) and compete in the two-month-long tournament for the championship.

However, over time, the IPL has evolved from being just another cricketing league and into something much bigger. It has become an event in which different people from different social groups come together and share each other's cultures and get to know their international competitors more closely as friends and human beings.

On a sillier note, this homogeneity of cultures also allows animated characters like Steve Smith to let loose and reach out to their inner ‘Dilli baaraati’ who will dance to any tune like there is no tomorrow.

Smith’s moves brought out some hilarious reactions from his overseas fans:

Wait ‘til you see Ashwin! There should be an IPL dance-off which rapidly comes to mean more to the players than the cricket!

Smith is also known to play some… ‘unorthodox’ shots when he gets completely engaged in a match, which in themselves look like brilliantly choreographed moves our Bollywood songs could use.

“It depends on who’s bowling, how is the wicket playing, how I [am going to] score and stuff like that or how people are trying to get me out, probably that determines how open I am or otherwise how closed I am. But my general stance where my back foot is going to almost off stump, or may be even outside at stages, I know that anything outside my eyeline isn’t hitting the stumps,” Smith had said back in April 2020 when asked about his unusual batting stance.

Some of the other international players in the Delhi Capitals squad tried their hand at ‘desi’ dance moves during a photoshoot for the franchise.

But when it came to showing “how it is done”, the centre stage belonged to none other than Shikhar Dhawan, who is the ideal candidate for bataati dancers at your wedding.
