Farhan Akhtar Brands Those Selling Fake COVID Medicines As ‘Monsters’ & People Support His Stance

India has been severely hit by the second wave of the novel Coronavirus and it’s disturbing to see how people are struggling to claim the old power they had over their lives.

Sadly, most state governments and health care infrastructure are almost crippled by the burgeoning pressure with no end to their woes in sight.

Amid all the negativity around, some people are still managing to take advantage of the situation in order to make money, proving that humanity has been kept on the back burner.

With reports of fake medications being sold making rounds, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to slam these 'monsters'.

“Seen a news report of people manufacturing & selling fake Covid medication. You have to be a special kind of monster to con people in these dark & desperate times. Shame on you, whoever you are!!!” Farhan's tweet read.

Fans agreed with him and came out to support his stance. One of the users wrote, “You haven’t heard about the cost of plasma donation? Or Ambulances charging a bomb to take the body to cremation? They are everywhere… trying to make money over dead bodies.”

Another wrote, “I feel people who are trying to line their pockets with money atm, don't realize that they are lining their pockets with the death and misery of thousands of people. They don't realize that this pain and misery in their pockets will haunt them later in life.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor will be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film’s Toofan and it will be the second collaboration with the director after the hit sports biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013).

Talking about the film, Mehra earlier said, “Toofaan is a story of an underdog and most importantly, it's a story about spreading love rather than creating differences. Whether rich or poor, every country is going through some issue or the other and we all carry wounds. Toofaan is not an attempt to scratch those wounds but to apply a soothing balm. Anybody from any part of the world will identify with that.”
