How long ago was it when you actually went out to meet with your friends in peace, without wearing a mask, without worrying that you might come in close contact with someone who might pass the deadly Covid-19 virus to you?

That's right. In Karnataka's Belagavi district, hundreds of people made a mockery of the Covid-19 restrictions by attending the funeral of a horse that belonged to a local religious organization.

Right now, when doctors are literally breaking down on social media due to being overworked and emotionally exhausted, the people of the village could be seen walking in close proximity and without wearing masks in order to attend the funeral.
It was clearly a scary sight to see so many people flout all Covid-related guidelines to gather at a place amidst India's healthcare almost succumbing to the gigantic second wave of Covid-19 infections.
As per reports, district officials were even forced to seal the village temporarily to carry out Covid tests to check for new cases.
"A horse of a local religious organization in Mastmaradi village died in the morning, following which people of the village took out a funeral procession and cremated the horse. The village has been sealed and an FIR has been registered. We are conducting RT-PCR tests. This village will remain sealed for next 14 days. Nobody is allowed to come in or go out," said Laxman Nimbargi, Superintendent of Police, Belgavi while speaking to NDTV.
Soon after news broke of the incident, people took to social media to express their reactions.
