However, hopes turned to nightmares as on the same night of the victory, Ronaldo announced that he would be leaving the Spanish giants, and let's say things have not just been the same for Madridistas.

Now, what will shake the fans, even more, is that their manager Zidane's second managerial stint has finally come to an end, with the Frenchmen penning his resignation days after losing out on the La Liga title to rivals Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid in a statement released on its website said, "It is now time to respect his decision and show our appreciation for his professionalism, dedication, and passion all these years. Zidane is one of Real Madrid's great myths and his legend beyond his role as coach and player at our club."

Zidane's departure comes at the end of a disappointing campaign where after having lost to Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals, the Madrid team failed to secure a trophy for the first time in the last 11 seasons.

To add salt to the wounds for Real Madrid fans, Massimiliano Allegri, who was in contention to replace Zidane as manager, is all set to sign for Juventus as their head coach, replacing Andrea Pirlo.
